i'm always trying to find new ways to make my life as difficult as possible; so when i thought up the concept for this recording setup, i was elated.
you plug the guitar or bass or keyboard into the pedal board, which goes into my mixer, which then runs out into my tape recorder, which then proceeds to exit the tape recorder and into my audio interface which then goes into my laptop (term for a portable computer).
the tape recorder has a really weird way of compressing. it takes half a second before it ducks the volume, so it's made me have to adapt my playing.
it's also got this cool crunch to it, not just when recording onto the tape, even just going directly through it like a pedal.
now i just have to actually record things...
