Back in July of 2022, I started making mixtapes via spotify and a Lonestar Singalodeon K-1S karaoke cassette recorder/player that'd I'd thrifted for $15 the year prior. This was the first one I made; I'd been listening to a ton of DJO's album "Twenty Twenty" at the time along with Tame Impala's "Lonerism", and found the two similar. This cassette fell out of that discovery. Originally, the cassette ended after Sun's Coming Up, though that was an error I made when estimating the length of the cassette. I added on "Chateau (Feel Alright)" at the end to use up the remaning tape, and the little snippet of "New Person, Same Old Mistakes" was in case the song ended and there was still usable tape left. I really liked the way the cassette recorded everything just a little too fast, and how it compressed it the way it did. It almost sounds like a guy who gets startled by the volume of his speakers and turns it down a second later. Hope you enjoy!
